RYLA Presentations

Wed, Oct 29th 2025 at 7:30 am - 8:30 am

Dylan Shrub and Holly Woodbury who recently attended the RYLA week , will tell us how they got on.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is Rotary’s way of giving young adults the opportunity to take part in developing qualities of leadership, team working, initiative, communication and problem solving at the start of their careers.  The 5-day course includes activities such as; abseiling, navigation, canoeing, sailing and high ropes.

Who can take part? The short answer is that there is no particular type of person. Indeed, the success of the course depends on there being a good mix of different ages between 14 and 17 inclusive , backgrounds and experience, all with leadership potential.

The courses for our area take place at the activity centre at Boxhill  Surrey

There is no cost to candidates as they are sponsored by our Club. The course takes place in July and we look to sponsor 2 or 3 participants each year.

After the event we invite those, we have sponsored to do a short presentation highlighting their experiences on the course to our Club Members at one of our breakfast meetings.

This year we’re welcoming our 2025 participants Dylan Shrub and Holly Woodburn to our meeting on 29th October .

If you would like attend this meeting to hear what they have to say or if you would be interested in taking part in our RYLA programme sometime in the future / would just like to know more about RYLA then please contact  rcchsecretary@outlook.com
