Our street collections in Gerrards Cross and Chalfont St Peter and donations from members raised money which was sent to the Rotary Fellowship of Healthcare Professionals to provide medical equipment needed in the disaster areas in Ukraine.
At our breakfast meeting Michel Syson introduced Gurmail Mahli who presented our President Susie Weisz with a cheque from Gurmail's Trust Fund for our Ukraine Appeal.
The Rotary Foundation has provided the Rotary Club of Misbourne Matins through its Disaster Response Fund a grant for the support of Ukrainian guests arriving here in Gerrards Cross, Chalfont St Peter and locally. The Club has already raised over four thousand pounds for medical support of Ukrainians in Ukraine and in nearby countries. The Club, using this disaster fund, is now delighted to be able to support Gold Hill Baptist Church (The Hub) in Chalfont St Peter, who are, with other faiths, co-ordinating community efforts in this area. The Hub is offering English lessons at all levels to Ukrainian arrivals and Misbourne Matins have obtained a grant of over £700 for the purchase of books for the use of both tutors and students
Misbourne Matins will continue to liaise with The Hub and hope to provide further funding when needed.
