Misbourne Matins Charity Funds donates over £7,000 to local and international charities
When COVID and lockdown appeared it became very difficult to raise money at events and collections from the general public for our Rotary Club Charity Fund, other than Children in Need at local schools, various Zoom Quizzes and our very successful Zoom Talks. Our members could no longer meet for breakfast each week so they also decided instead to make donations to our charity fund. This generosity has enabled a successful charity year with total donations to local and international charities amounting to over £30,000 including just over £6,300 to Children in Need raised at local schools.
This fantastic total includes final donations at the end of the Rotary year of over £7,000 to many local charities including the two local Food Banks, the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Scannappeal, Rennie Grove, Thames Valley Adventure Playground, South Bucks Hospice, the Rivertime Boat Trust, the Arctic One Foundation and the Chalfont St Giles Youth Club and in addition three international charities Mary’s Meals, a children’s project Leap India and Rotary’s own international charity the Rotary Foundation.
We are now starting a new year with, we hope, a return to fundraising starting with a Charity Golf Day in September and at Christmas the return of our cottage to local streets.
