25 years of unwavering dedication in responding to earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, and conflicts by providing emergency shelter to families in extreme need and 25 years of a remarkable relationship with Rotary that has made all of this possible.
Since the inception of Shelterbox by a small group of Rotarians, over three million people have been supported in recovering from disaster or conflict. This milestone is a testament to the dedication and compassion of everyone involved, including so many Rotarians worldwide, who are inspired to continue their efforts to bring hope and relief to those in need - originally supplied in those iconic green boxes.
It has supported thousands of families enduring the conflict in the Middle East; made possible through collaboration with Rotary in Jordan. Essential lifesaving aid has been provided after Hurricane Beryl swept through the Caribbean and after six tropical storms swept through the Philippines. More recently in Myanmar support from Rotary members in Thailand and Myanmar has been vital in the response to the earthquake there.
To adapt to a changing world, Shelterbox is constantly exploring new ways to meet the growing needs of those affected by crises. It is no longer just about boxes. Extreme weather events are adding to the challenges of survival in conflict zones.
It is only thanks to supporters and the long-standing partnership with Rotary International, that Shelterbox can make the necessary commitment to working with communities in their long-term recovery. This partnership has brought hope and relief to countless families and looks forward to continuing this essential work in the years to come. Amidst the challenges, there is a profound sense of pride in what has been achieved
