Energy Saving

Wed, Oct 8th 2025 at 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Speaker: Kit Evans, The Save Energy Co-op

SaveEnergy is a community benefit society focused on helping people enjoy warmer homes, lower energy bills and reduced carbon emissions, regardless of their ability to pay.

Through a mix of grants and business surpluses that we will generate as we grow,  we’ll deliver around 20% of services free or low cost to people in fuel poverty.  We’ll also signpost people who are eligible to government grants, to avoid duplicating other support.

We’re delighted to say that we can already demonstrate that our model works.  We now have two new staff,  both of whom are qualified as domestic energy advisors and one as an energy assessor;  we have undertaken 20  ‘Triple A’ home energy assessments and have a waiting list for many more;  we’ve offered free energy advice to more than 50 households and community groups; and over 40 local people have signed up as voting members of SaveEnergy, giving local people a say in how we are run and how we develop into the future.
