We have booked a one-and-a-half-hour session at the superb 8-lane indoor
Desborough Bowling Club in Maidenhead. If you’ve never played bowls before, now
is an opportunity to give it a go. No equipment or experience is necessary as they
provide bowls and personal trainers for the session. Only flat sole shoes are allowed
on the rinks, but you can play in carpet slippers or just in your socks.
Partners and friends are invited, and you don’t have to bowl if you don’t want to. The
Bowling Club has great facilities for you to enjoy. There is an exceptionally large
lounge area, a café and a bar.
There is a £15 charge for those who wish to play, and no charge for those not
playing.
Following the bowling, we have booked the Thai orchid restaurant which is just a 5-
minute drive from the bowling club near Maidenhead Bridge. We haven’t agreed on
the meal cost as yet as we don’t how many are coming, but it will be around £30 per
head.
The bowling starts at 5.30 and the restaurant is booked for 7.30. Please let me know
if you wish to join us for the whole event or just the bowling or just the restaurant.
