Speaker: Sheila Featherstone Clark spoke about the village she loves

Sheila Featherstone gave us an exciting gallop through the 19th and 20th century history of ‘Bizzam’, including a dizzying level of detail of the Hoby and Vansittart families (and their offspring, all apparently named George, I think), who owned the extensive Bisham Estate until it was finally sold in the 1960s. And Owen Williams of Temple House, who was Britain’s ‘Copper King’ and controlled all of our copper imports in the late 19th Century – go and have a look at his splendid copper memorial in Bisham Church!
