Kid's Day Out

A day of fun and socialising for young carers and their families

Every year we hold this event for young carers and their families. Children who take on onerous caring responsibilities together with their parents and siblings are invited to spend the day with us where they enjoy a range of activities with both indoor and outdoor games.

Rotary members from all three Marlow clubs gave up their time to organising games and entertaining.  There was a large craft tent, a very popular disco and an indoor football pitch.  Visitors of all ages enjoyed seeing the farmyard which included sheep, ponies, goats, ducks, geese and chickens.  Plate smashing was as popular as ever.

A sumptuous picnic was provided with sandwiches, savouries, a multitude of cakes, tea and coffee.  Also everyone appreciated the ice cream parlour.

This year we had around 130 very special guests who enjoyed mostly sunny weather and for many of them this will be the highlight of their year.

The day was rounded off with a BBQ for about 60 of the helpers.  Our President John Prout expressed his gratitude to members, their friends and families  for the tremendous support they gave and especially to David Miller, Sara Bowater and Peter Reynolds for their herculean effort.
