Club Bake-off Competition & 2017 Predictions Quiz

Wed, Feb 15th 2017 at 12:00 am - 12:00 am

Judge: John Arkle

Our Club Bake Off challenge was to make a LEMON MERINGUE ROULADE with plenty of recipes available on the internet and elsewhere.  Fourteen members had a go and brought there efforts along for judging by experienced chef John Arkle.

With so many expert creations to choose from judging was not easy but John and his assistant got stuck in.  The deserts were all marked for appearance, texture and flavour.

After much licking of lips John settled on the top three and invited the Kings Head resident chef to choose between the top two.

The winner was David Simpson followed closely by John Bromwich.  Third place was taken by Anne Hudson.

After John had completed his judging members were invited to sample the vast array of concoctions.

Later in the evening members were invited to make their predictions of local and world events in 2017.  Results will be given in December.

Duty Officers: Jane Fowler, Sue Arkle
