Have you ever had to queue for the loo in the interval during a concert at All Saints’?
All Saints Marlow is a building in the heart of the town. Its a building beloved by locals and tourists alike. It’s a popular venue for concerts with at least one per week during the season, but our wish is to see the building used even more by the community, for the community. We realise that to achieve that dream we need to improve the lavatory facilities, as anyone who answered yes to the above question will confirm. If you happen to be a wheel chair user, sorry we have no facilities for you.
The flower festival raised £3500 towards upgrading the lavatories. The upgrading is in at least four phases> Phase 1 – a ramped all access entrance is complete. Phase 2 – construction of a kitchenette and crèche starts on Monday 18th July and is fully funded. Phase 3 - will double the lavatory facilities, one being a disabled loo. Phase 4 the creation of a mezzanine floor with meeting rooms is a distant dream – but the current upgrading is being future proofed for when we can proceed.
The flower festival, with the theme “A Jolly Good Read” was held 9th - 11th July with a preview reception opening the event on Friday 8th .
Arrangers came from local school, regional flower clubs and talented individuals, who interpreted such diverse titles as Goldfinger, War and Peace to Wind in the Willows, the arrangement chosen by Marlow Thames to sponsor.
As chair of the organising committee I send our grateful thanks to Marlow Thames Rotary club for helping to make our flower festival a financial success. Without sponsors the queues for the loo would be crossing their legs for bit longer.
Thank you
