CRIME SCENE REPORT

The victim, Mr Glynn Eagles, was found in bushes next to the green of the 18th hole. It appears as if someone had repeatedly clubbed him about the head with a wood. Drag marks from the flag suggest he was killed there and then hidden in the undergrowth.

Mr. Eagle's golf ball was still in place on the green giving the impression he had not finished his round. A preliminary interview with suspects revealed that a game of 'speed golf' had been taking place. Although most competitors prefer pairs, Mr. Eagles had been playing with himself.

There were no apparent signs of a struggle indicating the victim knew his assailant.

Here are the key Suspects;

Albert Ross. (played by Drew)  “ I’ve been the tour pro at Callow Way for the last year. It’s a great opportunity to meet the fans and share some of the golfing wisdom I’ve obtained over the years. If anyone would like an autograph, I’d be only too happy to oblige”.

Ivana Tipp. (played by Virginia) “I work as a barmaid at Callow Way and that’s all I’m prepared to reveal about myself. In my country it is considered feeble to reveal details about one’s private life. It is very unfortunate that Glynn has been bludgeoned to death with a golf club and I look forward to finding out who did it”.

Juan Wood. (played by John R)  “I come from Portugal so my English isn’t very good. I am caddy at Callow Way for two years. I am grateful for watching so many great golfers like Albert Ross who is an old player. I dream one day of being great golfer and winning tournaments – then someone else will caddy for me!”.

Fern Grip. (played by Tricia)  “I am the Ladies’ Captain at Callow Way. I am a strict feminist who has worked tirelessly to secure equal rights for women golfers in a male-dominated world. My task was not made any easier by the fact that Glynn Eagles was a male chauvinist pig!”.

Sandy Trap. (Played by Nick R)  “I feel like the odd one out here because I very rarely visit Callow Way, even though I designed the course in exchange for free lifelong membership. For my day job I design office blocks and shopping malls, but my real passion is designing golf courses”.

Mo Green. (played by Sue)  “I am the greenkeeper at Callow Way. People think I’m strange because I live on a nudist colony, even though I keep telling them how great it is there. I know they’d love it if they could just see it for themselves but every time I invite a colleague over for dinner they seem to have a prior engagement”.

Stryker Ball. (played by Ian)  “I work as a golf instructor at Callow Way. As a good looking guy, I see it as my responsibility to be the friendly face of Callow Way, so I tend to socialise a lot at the bar when I’m not working. I am married to Charity”.

Charity Ball. (played by Tracy)  “I’m sure I need no introduction as I’ve met everyone here at one time or another through my fundraising activities. I am in charge of social events at Callow Way. I’m proud to say that I’ve raised over a million pounds for good causes since I joined the club”.

That's all eight suspects. Now.......who's the culprit?

  • the cast, who are playing parts, will be issued with booklets which explain their parts - questions and answers - so will have all information they (and you) need as they develop the plot.
  • you are welcome to print off and bring the information supplied to you by emails so far (and on the website, thanks to Ian).
  • all attendees (with a couple of exceptions from the cast) are able to compete. You will each be given a voting form to make a guess at the identity of the murderer, and the time you do it!
  • Immediately you have made your guess, you should hand it to Bob Snedker who will be collecting them.  The winner will be the person who guesses correctly in the shortest time.
  • notepaper will be provided, but it will be helpful if you would please bring your own pencil, ball-point, quill pen etc.
  • The suspects will ask questions and supply answers. They must respond truly to the questions asked except for the murderer who is a liar!

A small gift will be presented to the winner, with a runner-up prize for the second place finisher.
