To mark 150 years of Japan - United Kingdom friendship the Prime Ministers of both countries met in 2017 and Japan made a donation of 5000 Cherry Trees to be planted throughout the UK.
Cherry Blossom is the national flower of Japan.
10 of the 5000 trees have been donated to Daventry and have been planted on Daventry's Recreation Ground in London Road by Norse on behalf of Daventry Town Council.
The video is a very quick view of where the trees are planted. As the site is developed so more photos will be added.
In collaboration Norse and Daventry Town Council the Rotary Club of Danetre Daventry are planning to supply and plant a Wild Flower Meadow. In addition to this a number of Lavendar and Buddleia Shrubs will also be planted.
The overall plan is to create a Sensorary Garden that will attract pollinating insects. The picture below shows the area prepared by Norse for the Wild Flower Meadow with the Cherry Trees in the Background.
Danetre Rotary are also planning to provide a Reclaimed Plastic Bench so that the Residents of Daventry can sit and refect whilst enjoying the Blossom and Flowers.
There is growth in the garden, Please go and look in the corner of the Recreation Field behind the Police Station.
