Plan / Programme

Meet in the Car Park for 3.30 pm

There would then be a short walk - with various places of interest being pointed out

The walk would be planned in two parts – so as to best accommodate everyone.

All walking considered “easy”; for the most part ‘fairly flat’ and all on the village pavements, tarmac and in the surrounding Lanes.

Walk A ….. approx. 30 minutes:

Around the outside of the Village

Taking in the Church, Flore House, the Mill and River Nene etc.

Returning to and Ending back at Brodie Lodge

So that those of you who wanted; can access your cars, set up your Picnics ….. and “hopefully” sit in the sun chatting and socialising together!

The more adventurous ‘hardy walkers’ would then continue with

Walk B ….. approx. 30 – 40 minutes

Around the centre of the Village

Taking in the older parts, various buildings, cottages and features

Again, returning to Brodie Lodge – and joining the rest of the Party.

Plus of course; there is the option – for those of you who don’t want to walk at all

….. to simply come along and join in the Picnic – any time from 4.00 pm onward.

So flexibility is the key.

You will though have to provide and bring along your own Picnic, Drinks, Chairs and any Tables etc.

N.B. There are some public Picnic Benches available. But they are limited – not enough for everyone – and it is up to you individually if you want and/or are happy to make use of them.

I have also arranged for the Brodie Lodge “Pavilion” to be made available to us.

This being for the provision of ‘Toilet & Hand Washing’ facilities if required.

Please note though that the building is neither large enough ….. nor with essential ‘safe-distancing’ in mind considered suitable ….. for Indoor Use/Picnicking should the weather prove to be inclement.

The “worst case scenario” being that we could dress suitably – ALL enjoy a nice ‘walk and chat’ together ….. Having then to regretfully ‘Picnic back at Home’.

I guess that just about covers everything for now.

Any specific questions, queries etc. – Please give me a call ….. 01327 349 024

Finally it would be very helpful, if you could each get back to me

  • by Sunday evening

  • Confirming your interest/attendance

  • Also with an indication of likely Number(s)
