Working wih Ghana Outlook to provide Clean Water - February 2020
We were pleased to hear that Ghana Outlook have been able to install the Aquabox paid for by our Club donation.
The feed back and pictures from the team in Ghana says it all:
We went to Dulingou today. A very remote community of 1,100 in north Ghana. Felix a young student spoke of his and his community's concern about their water. The river bed is dry for at least four months and they dig scoop holes to find water. They regularly suffer severe bouts of sickness and diarrhoea which can be fatal. Ghana Outlook with Northallerton Mowbray Rotary Club has provided an aqua filter box which cleans the water and makes it safe to drink. There was much delight when clean water became available. Our next job is to provide a water borehole.
more We aim to raise money to support a project in the Pune District in India, coordinated by the Rotary Club of Pune Metro. The project target is to undertake works to recharge and improve water flow at 200 boreholes in two parts of the area.
more Rotarians in Northallerton have filled a pile of shoeboxes with everyday essentials and little luxuries to bring joy to some of the poorest people in Eastern Europe.
more In a new venture for the Club, shopping online has helped us to raise money, and for the 2022-23 year we agreed to support the Charity School in a Bag, and with assistance from Rotary Foundation we have been able to support 40 students.
