The Rotary Club of Crowthorne, Sandhurst and Bracknell raises £1750 for humanitarian aid.
The Rotary Club of Crowthorne, Sandhurst and Bracknell are pleased to announce that 200 guests attended their Service of Nine Lessons and Carols. The service was held in the beautiful Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Wellington College, Crowthorne.
The Service was opened and guests welcomed by Club President Kevin Baylis.
The Cecillia Singers, led by Karen Philips and accompanied by Stuart Mc Sweeny playing the Chapel organ, provided a number of choral pieces and supported the congregation when singing carols.
The Service Readings were read by Club members including Past President & Assistant District Governor Richard Lindo; District Governor Kate Hodges and Past President of East Hampstead Rotary Club Alan Finch.
The opening and final prayers were led by the Revd Laura Wheatley Downs.
The vast majority of guests attended the complimentary wine and mince pie reception held in the College’s historic Waterloo Hall. The reception proved to be an enjoyable way to complete an uplifting evening.
The monies raised will be donated to Shelter Box who were represented by District Governor Nominee Greg Wilkinson. Greg brought along examples of the humanitarian relief items Shelter Box provides to those desperately in need. Please look at our page discussing why we support ShelterBox.

A collection for Shelter Box was held on the evening. This combined with ticket sales enables the Club to announce that approximately £1750 was raised for ShelterBox.
