Christmas Trees at the Portal 2024

Community Project

Seagate Rotary,  once again held the "Christmas Trees at the Portal" project during Christmas 2024. The idea was to brighten up Christmas in Irvine and bring together various businesses, schools, and local organisations.

Local businesses and organisations were asked to sponsor a tree. Twenty-seven trees were put on display. Each tree had a standard placard ‘organised by Rotary’ with an area for each sponsor’s name. Sponsors were offered the chance to bring their brand to public attention and/or to give a community group the opportunity to decorate a tree. The tree dressers were challenged to be inventive, to do things that will bring smiles to faces, to surprise people, to impress people.

A Sponsors Evening was hosted on Wednesday 11th December where our sponsors and tree decorators enjoyed mince pies & coffee. Past President Fiona Lee thanked them all for their support and explained how their donations would go to help various local organisations & charities.

The public were asked to vote for their "Favourite Tree". The winner was Grassroots Fine Flowers with Irvine Lasses Burns Club taking second place.

The Trees were on display from 21st November 2024 to 5th January 2025.
