Lime Tree Lodge
2 Kennel Gate Luton Hoo Estate Bedfordshire LU1 4LF
Open 1.00 – 5.00 pm Price £6 and children under 12 free
Lime Tree Lodge is a pretty cottage at the Kennel Gate of the 1,000 acres Luton Hoo estate. Originally a gatekeeper’s cottage the Lodge is located at the start of the lime tree walk which leads to the estate’s working farm. The Lodge itself has a small, sunny garden with a variety of topiary and perennial planting and is surrounded by tall hedging which gives the garden its warm and cosy atmosphere. The Lodge’s owner is very kindly allowing the Red Cross to fund raise by arranging for a local expert to give a talk on the glittering history of Luton Hoo and its present day activities as well as opening the Lodge garden for visitors. Visitors are asked to reserve their place(s) for the talks online in advance. These are at 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Tea, coffee and cakes will be served as usual but visitors will also have the opportunity to treat themselves to a glass of prosecco as they wander around the bijoux garden afterwards.
NB We regret places for this event are limited and only those with pre-booked places will be able to access the Lodge garden. Reserve your place by calling Claire on 07513 707868 or CBattersby@redcross.org.uk
