Swimathon 2021 - Presentation Evening
Our 6th Annual Charity Swimathon was held on Sunday 14th November 2021. A huge thank you to all of the teams who participated with swimmers of all ages and abilities completing a total of lengths of the pool at the Washington Leisure Centre to raise funds for many great causes.
On Monday 31st January 2022, we held a presentation evening at our meeting venue at The Holiday Inn, Washington when President Roger Dale handed over cheques to representatives of the participating groups.
A record total of £5449.00 was raised from the Swimathon and 13 different charitable causes have been supported. Those involved included:
The Nissan Sports and Leisure team raising funds for The Greenfingers charity.
The 'Heart of the Community' team raisng funds for local defibrillators.

Funds were also raised to support the work of Rotary within the community.
Well done to everyone for your efforts in supporting this event. Our appreciation also goes to the management and staff at the 'Everyone Active' Washington Leisure Centre' for their continued co-operation and assistance.
It was a fun and friendly event with participants enjoying their swim and completing the number of lengths they were comfortable with - all in the knowledge that money being raised would be for very worthwhile causes.
