Club visit Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue HQ

Mon, Oct 7th 2019 at 6:15 pm - 7:30 pm

Visit to the HQ prior to our weekly meeting

As a serving officer, club president Ronnie Monaghan arranged a visit for us this week to the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service HQ in Washington. Being the location for senior management, corporate teams, and training, it is also the base for the main control room. Staff there explained the structure of the Service, how emergency calls are handled, and how crews and appliances are despatched to, and deal with incidents. Thank you to the duty watch personnel who made the visit so interesting and informative. And reassuring to see that our communities are supported by such professional people who are dedicated to keeping us safe.
