A great effort by everyone today at the Rotary Dragon Boat Race held at the Hetton Lyons Country Park. Organised by Rotary SR1 and the Sunderland Satellite Club, 15 teams involving around 300 participants ignored the continuous rain and clearly still had fun as they sped across the lake to the beating of their drum. Some of the members from Washington Forge volunteered to assist with the stewarding for this fundraising event. Dragon Boat Races are certainly popular..... whether held in Hong Kong, Hawaii or Hetton! #peopleofaction
