Support after Kerala Floods

Funds raised to help the people of Kallissery

During August 2018, severe floods affected the south Indian state of Kerala. It was the worst flood in Kerala in nearly a century. Our Immediate Past President Mathew Thomas and his wife Mol are from this region and have family members there. They both arranged fundraising events and with additional donations from individuals, local church groups and Washington Forge Rotary, over £5500 was raised. This has been used to support the rebuilding of homes, roads, pathways etc in the village of Kallissery. Mathew and Mol recently visited the area and they have certainly done what they could to make a difference to the lives of the people there.
