Salvation Army Community Project - Austin House

Thank you to Graham Wharton, Community Manager for The Salvation Army at Austin House, Sunderland, for hosting this morning's visit by our Rotarians Fidelma De Faoite and Phil Hopps. This followed our 'Food for Christmas Appeal' this month during which there was a fantastic response by Washington residents.

Austin House is on the frontline of The Salvation Army's community work in the area and Graham explained how the food donated is handled, sorted and distributed. A busy community hub with very dedicated staff and volunteers giving vital support and facing increasing challenges.
