In support of the work of the Stroke Association, we offered free blood pressure checks and professional advice about stroke and it's causes to members of the public in The Galleries Shopping Centre, Washington.
Another busy National 'Know Your Blood Pressure' day during which 112 persons had their blood pressure checked. 15 people were advised to arrange a routine follow-up with their own GP within a month, whilst 2 people were recommended to see their GP within a week.
This Rotary project was again well received and considered to be a valuable community and health initiative. We had some very positive feedback and response for Rotary offering these free and convenient checks, and hope to hold our next check in October 2018.
Thank you again to Dr Mathew Thomas for carrying out the actual checks, and to those members of the Club who assisted. We also appreciate the continued support and assistance from the management and staff at The Galleries shopping centre.
