Dr Unni Wariyar OBE and Dr Malcolm Coulthard joined us this evening to tell us about their recently formed charity - 'Child Health Africa'. Both retired from the RVI, Newcastle where Dr Wariyar was a paediatrician whilst Dr Coulthard was a children's kidney doctor.
Having spent most of their working lives looking after children in the Northeast of England, they have also had extensive links to paediatrics in the developing world, and since retirement they have worked in various settings in Africa.
The aim of the charity is to improve the health of African children through research, education and training.
A very informative and thought provoking presentation.
More details of their work can be seen at www.childhealthafrica.org
