Women in Rotary

Being involved

Stephanie Urchick

In Borderland Rotary and the Rotary organisation worldwide much has changed.  Originally Rotary was created for professional men way back in 1905.  For many years now it has been active with men and women from all walks of life.

There are still misunderstandings around Oswestry and the wider public, about the involvement of women.  They are active at all levels; including at the top as an International President, leading and representing millions of Rotary members worldwide.  Jennifer Jones fulfilled that prestigious role in 2022-23 and this year it is Stephanie Urchick providing that special focus.

Borderland Rotary have both women and men in leading and supporting roles.  There are ample opportunities to support and help out when needed.  As volunteers, a variety of charity fundraising activities exist, mainly to benefit the Oswestry area.  There are also the regular social activities.

Women have a place at Borderland Rotary, where they have been a valuable part for many years.  They are needed, and will always be welcome.
