12th June 2025- Club Assembly –– Gerry Short and Gail
President Elect Gail provided her thoughts by thanking everyone for their support, wishing that she would not be the ‘last’ President and trusting that our Fund-raising efforts will become secure ASAP
She and Gerry S have been considering alternate venues for the Club, following the imminent retirement of Mark and Jo at Ashmores. !3 venues were considered and 3 are likely to be tested with 3 meetings at each of: 1. Rutland Arms at Bottesford 2. The Piano at Radcliffe and 3, The Belvoir Hotel and Curry House.
The various committee reports were then presented with a confirmation of the spend split at 70% locally and 30% internationally. Plans to improve communications and PR via possible new website. Gordon Marsh volunteered to run again the Christmas Float.
Assistant Governor Paul Jones gave his complementary views on our plans, but commenting how since COVID there is little interaction between clubs, which he recommends. Their Club (Nottingham) prints the children’s names in the Dictionaries for Life. He also promoted the forthcoming East Midlands Expo and how Corporate Social Responsibility (CSB) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) should be frameworks for future developments.
