Art and Craft Fair 2023
The Art and Craft Fair held at the Blue Diamond Home and Garden Centre on the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of July was an outstanding success. The final amount raised was 4672.92 and it was agreed this would be divided between Lincs Notts air Ambulance and The Vale and Fosses First Responders.
Thanks to the garden centre the area designated for the event was prefect for the display of art work. Blue Diamond were delighted with the footfall and sales for them were up too. Staff at the Garden Centre enjoyed the event and it raised the profile of Rotary. Committee members said it improved our image with the Garden Centre and would help with our Christmas presence there.
Artists and crafters were delighted with the organisation and made positive comments. Many stall holders said they would like to come back next year.
Rotarians did a great job in putting up paintings and it was felt there was a good atmosphere in the setting up and closing of the event with Rotarians. There was praise for Ann and Dermot in collecting and moving boards and also helping with displaying paintings.
Newspaper articles written over the few months before the event brought in stall holders and artists. Social media was also good and many artists and crafters advertised the event on their social media sites.
The winners of the school children’s art competition were displayed at this event.
The event developed very good communication with the Air Ambulance and the Vale First responders. Both charities helped with selling raffle tickets and taking donations and volunteered for the rota. Also, a number of friends of Rotary helped volunteer on the rota and enjoyed helping
The Air Ambulance will come and give a talk to Rotary on the 28th September when a presentation will be made.
First Responders will be presented with their cheque on the 21st September before the Business meeting
