Junior School Art competition - 2018
This is the third year that we have organised this Art competition which is open to all the Junior schools in Radcliffe / Bingham / Cotgrave and the villages in the Vale.
The theme this year wasEarth, Sea or Sky with prizes being awarded to the winners in each of two categories ie Key stage years 3 / 4 and years 5 / 6, as well as the winning school receiving a donation to their Art department. Additionally this year a winner in each of the categories was chosen from the Artwork submitted by each of the participating schools and from which the winning entries were chosen. Six schools took part with 159 entries and again standards were high.
Our thanks to Long Acre Studios in Bingham and the Arts Society Trent Valley for their support.
All the Art work was exhibited at the annual Art and Craft Fair organised by the Rotary clubs of Vale of Belvoir and Bingham and Radcliffe. Below is a picture of the two winners , Sophia Cane ( on left ) and Fleur Keightley being presented with their framed winning artwork by Barry , The Mayor of Rushcliffe together with Adrian Cresswell , Club President.
We shall be running another Art competition in 2019, to also include for the first time a Photographic competition. The theme is – MY COUNTRYSIDE -- Full details of the competition have been sent to all the Junior schools in our area.
