Once again we have presented Dictionaries for Life to all Junior Schools in our Area. The children seem to love them and head teachers were most positive about their value for the children.
Headteacher at Radcliffe-on-Trent, Clare Allsopp, said "Year on year we find the dictionaries incredibly useful as we really want to promote independent learning in our children. The children are always so proud of their dictionaries as they are such a useful resource. I would like to say a big thank you to The Rotary Club for their kind donation again this year."
The English lead teacher Mrs
Simpson at Cropwell Bishop Primary School said "We always appreciate the Rotary Club's generous
donation of dictionaries for Class 5. The power of a rich and varied vocabulary
cannot be underestimated and having their own individual dictionary opens up the
wonderful world of words for the children, supporting them in all aspects of
their reading, writing and spoken language. Thank you so much."
from Mrs E J Brown Head Teacher at Langar school: Year 5 and 6 have been generously gifted dictionaries to aid them on their learning journey through class 4. This initiative is led by The Rotary Club who contribute to the local area and wider communities so wonderfully. It was lovely to welcome Geri and Jane in to hear about their good work. 11 Nov.2020
