11/06/26 – 3 Quizzes from – Rob Gray
We were trying yet another new venue at Long Acre Arts Centre in Bingham and Alan F had organised Fish, Chips and Mushy peas followed by Lidl Cornetto ice cream. Worked well, so thanks to Alan.
Rob introduced his triple QUIZ for each table to compete; the first was an alphabetical quiz, with answers ranging from Frank ALBERT Sinatra, HINTER land, POLLOCK, to ZEBEDEE.
This was followed by a 9 number quiz, which had a “connection theme” running through the answers, ranging from ‘Melbourne’, through ‘Wilson Pickett’ to ‘Heath Ledger’. Finally, inevitably a “Spot the intro” MUSIC Quiz ranging from “Honky Tonk Woman by The Rolling Stones, Another one bites the dust by Queen to In the summertime by Mungo Jerry. A well put together ensemble that created fierce competitiveness from the 4 tables, with Steve C, Maggie, Doug, Pam and Gerry T scoring 50 overall, matched by Alan F, Gail, David J, Peter and Allen. Rob attempted a “tie Break” question, but the usual chaos ensued so the many chocolate prizes were distributed to everyone, as normal. Thanks, Rob
Gail gave the vote of thanks, saying how much she had enjoyed the Thrust and parry, plus the challenge to the memory. Thanking Rob for all the time and effort put in preparation and his usual professional delivery. The members joined her in a warm round of applause to thank Rob for informative and engaging quizzes.
