Trinity partnered with the homeless charity The Purfleet Trust to provide two days of family fun at Norton Hill Light Railway at Snettisham by kind permission of the owners Mr & Mrs Michael Schumann and at the same time raising funds for both Purfleet and charities supported by Trinity Rotary.
As well as helping out generally with car parking and all the arrangements Trinity ran two stalls, The Human Fruit Machine and Play Your Cards Right with The Human Fruit Machine being very popular with the children as well as the Mums and Dads who laughed at the antics of the clowns. Surprise, Surprise the children always won and their prize was a bag of donated fresh fruit - a contibution to their "five a day"
The main attraction was, of course, the light railway itself with two authentic steam locomotives and a diesel and other rolling stock. The railway takes passengers round a 1.5 kilometre track through the extensive grounds for a modest fare and was busy for the full 5 .hours each day.
A good time was had by all punters and helpers alike
