The Coronavirus has created unexpected problems for organisations involved in dealing with the homeless, people with mental health problems and with loneliness also becoming a major factor.
Trinity have recognised this and where we have been made aware of particular needs we have taken steps to resolve them
The Purfleet Trust is a local charity dealing with the homeless and the drive to house all these during the pandemic and to cater for them was a logistical problem. Initially Trinity were looking at augmenting the food supplies in order to help but received a request for a top of the range food processor to assist with the preparation of so much food.No sooner said than done and Chef Tom Kelly is now able to provide some 735 meals a week for his clients with the benefit of this equipment.
Restrictions on family visiting patients in hospitals and hospices in order to control the virus spread can be distressing for both the patients and their families. Making use of media such as Facetime or Skype so that patients can see and communicate with their loved ones can alleviate this distress and with this in mind Trinity have provided an Ipad Mini to the Norfolk Hospice for their use. It has also provede useful for doing virtual handovers by nurses and social workers based there. Now that the value has been recognised a second one will be provided.
Rotary and particularly Trinity making a difference!
