The Saturday Gang

The Saturday Gang is a group of adults with learning difficulties, supported by volunteers, who have met every Saturday morning for the last 15 years. We are delighted to support them financially.


The Saturday Gang is a group of adults with learning difficulties who are supported by volunteers who have met every Saturday morning for the last 15 years. The group evolved from an awareness that there were people in the community who, while well supported during the week, had little support at weekends. Therefore leaving them vulnerable.

Of course the onset of the pandemic brought an end to this vital support. As the need to self-isolate has receded so the Saturday Gang is taking off again. The members of the Saturday Gang have really felt the effects of the pandemic with many losing confidence and having difficulties meeting other people.
So, over the summer months they hope to be able to start going out again and re-finding themselves. They have lots of trips planned and Mounts Bay and Penzance Rotary are delighted to support them financially so that they can get out and enjoy themselves. As you can see from the lovely card they sent us, this means a lot to them!

more The club was recently host to speakers John and Jayne Penlerick (father and daughter), from Cornwall Blood Bikes. They gave a fantastic insight into the varied and sometimes stressful work they do on behalf of all of us!

Helping young people who have been homeless or at risk
