Mount's Bay Rotary raises money for ShelterBox, the brilliant international charity that was started by a local Rotary club. Since ShelterBox was founded, our club has raised enough money to send more than 50 boxes to disasters all over the world.
Every year hundreds and thousands of communities, often with no warning, lose their homes, their possessions and their livelihoods. Every day they are faced with a battle for survival.
ShelterBox provide emergency shelter and vital supplies to support communities around the world overwhelmed by disaster and humanitarian crisis.
Since the charity began in 2000, it has responded to earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, tsunamis, hurricanes, landslides, typhoons and conflict, delivering emergency humanitarian aid to communities in need.
They have responded to some of the largest humanitarian crises the modern world has ever known. Alongside this, they have also helped many thousands of people displaced by disasters that are not featured in the media. Simply put, if there are families in need of emergency shelter, the charity will do everything it can to help them.
