On monday 15th Aug the Club hosted 2 speakers first Stephen Rose.
Stephen gave an interesting talk on Lond Distance Walking.
The talk was organised by Rotarian Robert Jackson,
and then two members of the Priestley Society Keith Baker and Les Woodcock
They updated the club on the coming 100 year anniversary of the unveiling of the Joseph Preistley statue in
Birstall Market place
introduced by Rotarian Ian Blamiers.
Monday 31st Oct the Club visited Leeds Paridsh Church

Bonfire Night took the club to the Black Bull in Birstall.
.Fireworks, a bonfire and a pie and pea supper was enjoyed by all.

Batley Grammar School
venue for a joint venture Race Night
between Birstall Luddites and Batley Rotary Clubs and Batley Grammar School.
An enjoyable evening with supper was enjoyed raisng funds on a very cold
February evening.

On Monday 13th Feb the Club held a Valentines evening at Healds Hall.
Members partners and friends were entertained by Rotarian Martin Simpsons daughter Sally who gave
a talk on her career in journalism leading to her present job as a leading YTV News presenter.

On Mon 27th Feb the Club held its
Annual Seat of Knowlede Quiz.
Last years winners Horbury and Ossett
Phoenix were again in top spot.

Whitby Weekend
March 23-25th
John and Rachel organised a Social weekend at Dunsley Country House Hotel near Whitby.
Superb summer weather for March plus a very nice Hotel and good company led to a enjoyable weekend.
