Meeting welcome to all

Join us online for an enlightening discussion with Annemarie on this groundbreaking humanitarian and sustainability initiative.

Annemarie will share incredible insights into the Rotary Aquaponics Project at the  Desmond Tutu Program to End Global Hunger in Soweto. Learn about the transformative benefits this project brings to the community and its impact on sustainable living.

Aquaponics combines aquaculture and hydroponics to create a symbiotic growing environment where plants and fish thrive. A well-managed vertical aquaponics farm can:

  • Produce up to 19 times more heads of lettuce than a traditional farm of the same size,
  • Consume 95% less water in delivering its crop,
  • Add zero damaging pesticides to waterways,
  • Eliminate adverse climate impacts via its solar power electrical deployment.
