A NEW VISION

It’s only fair that we give others the opportunity of enjoying Rotary.

Yes, we want to share the enjoyment and challenge of being in Rotary with as many like-minded people as possible.  That is, people who have a passion for giving back something to the community, who want to make a difference and have fun doing so.

We realise however that not everyone can or wants to belong to conventional Rotary Clubs, though that opportunity will continue to be available.  Instead, something more flexible, more focussed and more economical would be more up their street.

That is why we are creating our CARDIFF BAY + PLUS  group, which will have all the benefits of being part of Rotary but with less formalities and much greater flexibility for members.

What does this mean in real life?

What?   CARDIFF BAY + PLUS is a satellite group of Cardiff Bay Rotary which will operate at arms length from the parent body although its members will be full members of Rotary.  CARDIFF BAY + PLUS members will plan and carry out their own projects and arrange their own social programme within Rotary, one of the largest  voluntary service organisations in the World,

Who?  Existing members and newcomers for whom this group better suits their current lifestyles.

When?  Members will decide when they will meet to socialise and discuss their plans and projects, probably once or twice a month.

Where? Wherever members want to meet, in person or virtually, or probably a mixture of both.  Face to face meetings will be in suitably informal venues such as pubs and coffee shops.  For the time being, because of Coronavirus restrictions, meetings will take place on Zoom or a similar virtual platform.

Why?  Because there are many needs in our communities which a group of organised people can help to meet, increase their social circle and enjoy themselves at the same time.  And because there are many people who want to help but need an organisation like CARDIFF BAY + PLUS to coordinate their efforts with others.

How?   By joining Rotary through CARDIFF BAY + PLUS.  There are many benefits, from networking locally to having Worldwide connections, and plenty of opportunities for personal development and setting and meeting challenges.  Costs are limited to membership fees, which are just over £2 per week, and refreshments at actual get-togethers.
