Tony's presentation covers the historical development and events leading up to the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope. It outlines the huge engineering and financial aspects of the project as well as a NASA video of Hubble’s launch inside the Space Shuttle Discovery.

We will see full colour images of many of the planetary and deep space objects viewed & recorded by Hubble & NASA. These are best viewed on as large a screen as possible.

The talk ends with a few thoughts on the future and summarises the immense benefits Hubble has given the world of astronomy.
