This is our major commitment to the development of disability sport in Wales, and it is an event we have sponsored for 11 years.
Following a request received from Disability Sport Wales in 2008 for financial help due to the withdrawal of their key sponsor, we stepped in with emergency cash which ensured that this event, formerly known as the 'Wheelchair Sports Spectacular', could go ahead that year and every year since. We have also enlisted the help of our partners Cardiff University along the way.
This support has continued and the event has thrived with a greater impact than we could have imagined. The number of people with different abilities, mostly young children, visiting this event and trying out a new sport for the first time has increased to 1,000 each year. In addition to opening up a new world of sport for most of them, some have gone all the way and have competed for GB at the London and Rio Paralympics.
The real pleasure for us however is seeing their smiling faces and showing that there are no limitations to what they can achieve and the enjoyment which particpating in sport can give.
