The Club mourned the loss of a Member
The Rotary Club of Northampton Becket is greatly saddened to announce the loss of our member the Rev Alan Panton who passed away after a short illness. Alan, who joined the Club in 1992, was President during the Millennium Year and was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship in 1995 for services to the Community.
Alan contributed widely to the community in Northampton. As a club member he served on fundraising project committee and in the promotion of Rotary membership. In every way he demonstrated a commitment to the ideal of Rotary, embodying the concept of Service above Self. When the club began supporting Young Carers activities Alan was quick to offer his time as a volunteer driver.
He will be greatly missed not only for his contribution Rotary ideals but also for his compassion demonstrated by the personal help and guidance was able to offer any member with worries or in trouble.
