On 10th March Members, Family & Friends gathered at the Northampton Marriott Hotel to celebrate the anniversary of the Club being chartered as the first UK Breakfast Club.
The theme was "Gadsby" and everyone made the effort to play the part!
The highlight of the evening was the presentation by President Martin Thornton of a Paul Harris Recognition Award to Rotarian Terry Atkinson for his services to the Club and the Community. It was the first time a Rotary Becket Member had received the award for a second time which means that the recognition pin includes a saphire

Nomination for a second award to Terry Atkinson.
"Terry received the award once before, in 2010 but in the past year he has provided exceptional service:
First, in having the vision and drive to promote the 2023 Chitipi Classroom Project by visiting Malawi at his own expense (with a very supportive team) and then setting about, with the team, to raise significant sums to make the proposals a reality, stretching the project from a single project but making it a three year plan.
Secondly, Terry’s selfless pursuit of making the 2023 Santa Sleigh the success that it was. Not only was he “hands on” in upgrading the sleigh, researching new routes, leading his team to ensure we covered as many venues as possible, when some of the usual drivers could not take part as previously, he stepped in. Of the 16 evening routes,Terry drove 8 of them. Not only that, he fly posted for the route around Grange Park and single handed posted 500 around St Crispin promoting the Carol session.
During the campaign Terry had last minute request for Santa to visit Duston School and Overstone House Care Home. It would have been reasonable to have declined both as we had such a full programme this year. Not Terry, he took both visits on to the sheer delight of the pupils, residents and staff. This is despite all the other commitments that he had taken on in the month."
