Young Writer Competition

Winners of the 2024 Young Writer competition

Each year we encourage local primary and secondary schools to promote the nationwide Rotary Young Writer Competition to their pupils. A theme is communicated with pupils submitting pieces of creative poetry or prose for judging. We provide certificates and prize monies for the winning entries.

The 2024/2025 theme was 'Wonderful Water' which produced a number of excellent pieces of work which reflected the pupil's understanding of the issues of climate change affecting the supply of this essential compound which supports human and animal life. Pollution of water and its effect on river and sea life also featured.

The photograph shows pupils at Thomas Estley Community College, Broughton Astley displaying their certificates.'

THE 2025 - 2026 COMPETITON WILL OPEN FOR APPLICANTS SHORTLY
