Young Writer Competition

Winners of the 2026 Young Writer competition

Each year we encourage local primary and secondary schools to promote the nationwide Rotary Young Writer Competition to their pupils. A theme is communicated with pupils submitting pieces of creative poetry or prose for judging. We provide certificates and prize monies for the winning entries.
The theme this year (2025/2026) was ‘Happiness in Nature’ and we had 4 inspiring entries.
First, Second and Third prizes awarded with certificates, and a Certificate of Entry for the fourth place.  The photograph shows pupils at Thomas Estley Community College, Broughton Astley displaying their certificates standing with event organisers Rtn. Tony Baily  and Rtn. K. Jenkins
THE 2026 - 2027 COMPETITON WILL OPEN FOR APPLICANTS SHORTLY
