At the back end of 2020, we had a visit from Rotarian Robert Leaper of the Rotary Club of Daventry Danetre who told us about a project in Nepal to pump water to a hillside community. With the help of other clubs in the District and a matching District Grant, the dream has finally become a reality.
There have been many hold ups over the course of the project, from covid, to national holidays and landslides, but the project is now complete.
Now, the women no longer have to trek miles to collect water every day, but fresh water is pumped directly to the community including a school where the children are now educated about personal hygiene matters.
This is a fantastic example of clubs working together to get the job done.
