In March, 2018, we planted some trees behind the cinema at Rushden Lakes, with the help of the Rotary Club of Rushden.
We are pleased to see that these trees are flourishing and the report from the Nene Wetlands Nature Reserve is as follows:
For info, earlier this week, we did some maintenance in the hedgerow line you planted with the Club.
The trees have reached now a person height and are all looking great. For the first time, guilder rose and dogwood are flowering. Once the trees create a bit of shade we will be able to reduce the maintenance works.Unfortunately, the interpretation sign we put up has been hit and damaged with a pointy object by vandals, although it is still legible.
We have now planted some 120 hedging whips at Irthlingborough wetlands, with the help of the Rushden Rotary Club. A further planting is planned for Spring 2024.
