Bradford on Avon Foodbank - May 2020

Rotary Club of Bradford on Avon is a regular supporter of the BOA Foodbank has made a further donation to help The Hub meet the increased requirement due to the Covid-19 pandemic

Rotary Club of Bradford on Avon is proud to be an active supporter of the Bradford on Avon Foodbank and in May 2020 has been able to increase its support with a further donation to help the foodbank cope with the increased workload due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Operating within the “Bradford on Avon Hub” services the foodbank is also affiliated to the nationwide charity the Trussell Trust and aims to support families, couples and individuals in short term need of food. There is a growing awareness of the needs within the local community and so they work with a range of local agencies and professional services aiming to support and care for the wider community.

People that are in need of this support may have found themselves in difficult circumstances often through no fault of their own. They may have been made redundant or have lost work through severe illness. Some service users are attempting to rebuild their life after the breakdown of a marriage or partnership or they could be recovering from a situation of domestic violence.

Access to the foodbank is available to people who are referred by a supporting professional such as a teacher, social worker, key worker, minister, or through another agreed referral agency. Provisions can be collected from the Hub where service users will be provided with three days’ supply of food.
