Tue, Jul 21st 2020 at 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Barbara visited to tell us about her hopes for what will be a challenging year, but one to which she will no doubt rise.

Barbara spoke particularly about:

The possibility of a Rotary Foodbank Warehouse in the District,in which could be stored and distributed food obtained by Rotary nationally from major stores.

The Wheelchair Foundation fundraising effort to fill a container to be sent to South Africa.  Donations still required towards each wheelchair, which costs £75.00

Defibrillators.  In partnership with N E Ambulance Service, there is a desire to have these placed throughout the District as a major community initiative.

Carers UK.  There is a particular link via RIBI to this organisation, which District wishes to explore and develop in the North East.

Before her talk, President Elizabeth had been pleased to induct new member Graham Wharton into the club.  She later visited him at work and handed him the Welcome Pack and his Rotary badge.
