Once again Gordon Coxon had arranged excellent weather for our annual visit to the Lakes, staying at the Damson Dene Hotel. Twenty members, wives, family and friends took part. Many met up for lunch at the Wolf Gallery before taking a short walk along the promenade at Grange. We then joined up with the other members of the party at the hotel for dinner and chat.
Saturday saw another warm, sunny day when 10 of us went to Coniston for a longer, most enjoyable walk of about 5 miles. After relaxing back at the hotel, we all got together for dinner. This was followed by a fiendish quiz set by Fiona and Gill, President Peter's daughters.
Sunday morning saw us head for coffee at Sizergh Castle, from where we did a short walk before returning for lunch. Many headed home from there, but others stayed another night to enjoy a longer weekend.
