The Cookham Regatta is an annual fun event, organised by The Rotary Club of Cookham Bridge, now with the support of The Rotary Club of Maidenhead Thames. There was also support from scouts and other organisations (or groups) from the local community.
It took place this year on Saturday 7 September at an idyllic location on Marsh meadow in Cookham, by the River Thames.
As well as raising money for worthy causes this was an enjoyable event for all. The lead charity this year was Thames Hospice. Rotary partners Shelterbox and Aquabox also exhibited.
There was a lot going on! Something for everyone.
The Regatta also gave the opportunity for other charities to present their activities and raise funds for their own causes.
There was Greek and Thai food, the Scout barbecue, a Pimms tent and the Cherry Pickers of Cookham Dean beer tent.
The Bisham Concert band provided musical entertainment.
Organisers, supported by over 50 volunteers, thanked the lead sponsors, the ShanlyFoundation, Louis Baylis Trust and the Copas family for the use of Marsh Meadow and the trailer used for race control.
