Youth Opportunities
Rotary is committed to offering young people opportunities to unlock their potential, develop their skills and broaden their horizons – here’s just a few of the ways Maidenhead Thames Rotary supporting the future generations:
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA): this is a leadership development programme run by Rotary for young adults. Whether you are a secondary school pupil, university sudent or young professional, RYLA will help you discover your potential and develop skills needed to be a leader in your community, career and everyday life.
As a club we fund a place for somone who lives or works in Maidenhead aged 18 to 25 years to take part in the Thames Valley RYLA programme, which takes place in Rhos-y-Gwaliau, Wales. If you would be interested in taking part then please do get in touch today.
- Kids Out: we work wtih this national charity which gives disadvantaged children across the country the chance ot be a child for hte day and forget the hardships life may throw at then, whether they have escpated domestic violence or live daily in poverty KidsOut believe that all children deserve fun and happiness in their lives and work every day to make that a reality. We offer a fully-funded, fun outdoor experience each year to children in years 6 and 7 enabling them to learn team work and stretch their imaginations and experience.
- RotaKids: RotaKids is a fun and exciting way for children aged 7-12 to make friends and get involved with important activities in the community, all while having a great time in the process.
RotaKids clubs are based in schools, youth groups or community centres and with the help and support from teachers, youth leaders and the local Rotary club, children can gain a valuable experience in helping others and learning interesting, new things.
We will be exploring the possibility of having a joint approach with
local Rotary Clubs in Maidenhead to form a new RotaKids Club at one of the
Primary Schools in Maidenhead, so watch this space!
