Rotary Club of Maidenhead Thames - No 1599, District 1090.

Maidenhead Thames, an evening club, was formed on the 22 April 1986 by 32 Founder Member Rotarians and Chartered on 22nd June 1986.

Over the years vast sums of money have been raised for many worthy causes and we have had many major projects like the Team Rotary World Cup Rally. Locally we raise money for Thames Valley Hospice, Thames Valley Adventure Playground, People to Places, Timbertown, Homebase where the aim is to provide equipment for elderly people such as wheelchairs, or support for underprivileged children.

Internationally our projects have included an Indian Dam, a Saharan Water Project for SOS Sahel, an Orphanage in Cambodia for blind children, Ghana Sight Savers, a Russian Orphanage and currently an Electricity Project for the Nepal Trust. Disaster relief funds Shelterbox and Aquabox are areas we make a major contribution.

Internationally the Club is twinned with the Rotary Club of Hengelo (Netherlands) and the Rotary Club of St Nom la Breteche (France).
